Averted™
Accessibility
Use Averted in the way that works for you, on iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch.
VoiceOver
Averted includes VoiceOver labels and spoken exercise cues. The exercises that move on by themselves, like the breathing pacers, say each change out loud as it happens: "Breathe in", "Hold", the next muscle group, left hand and right hand. The same goes for the ones you step through, like 5-4-3-2-1 and the A-B-C. With the buzz on, each change of breath is also a haptic you can follow with your eyes closed. This works on Apple Watch too.
Voice Control
Controls include labels for use with Voice Control. You can say "Tap I'm having a panic attack" to start the big button, or the name of the technique it opens.
Larger Text
Text follows your text size, up to the largest accessibility sizes, on iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. Exercise screens use scrolling instructions and separate exit controls to help keep them usable at larger sizes.
Dark Mode
Averted follows your device's appearance. In Dark Mode the whole app goes dark, so it isn't a bright screen in a dark room at night. If you'd rather have Averted light or dark whatever the rest of your device is doing, choose it under Appearance in Averted's Settings. Apple Watch is always dark.
Increase Contrast
The breathing screens use soft colors by default. Turn on Increase Contrast in your device’s Accessibility settings for clearer text, including on the breathing screens. Soft colors are not a privacy filter; someone nearby may still be able to read your screen.
Reduce Motion
With Reduce Motion on, the breathing pacers hold still and get brighter and dimmer instead of growing and shrinking.
Differentiate Without Color
Exercise cues use words, shapes, or size as well as color. With Differentiate Without Color on, the marks that show your place in a list of steps also get bigger for the current step.
Captions and audio descriptions
Averted has no video or audio of its own. The headphones technique hands off to your music app.
Something not working?
